چکیده

This study examined the effects of a combination soybean fiber and α-glycosyl-isoquercitrin (AGIQ) on improving quercetin bioavailability glucose metabolism in rats fed an obesogenic diet. For 9 weeks, were individually control diet, high-fat high-sucrose (H) H with (HS), or AGIQ (HQ), both (HSQ). Quercetin derivatives plasma, feces, urine, cecal content quantified by high-performance liquid chromatography to assess quercetin, meal tolerance tests performed postprandial glycemia glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) responses. The HSQ group had higher plasma levels than HQ. was attenuated when compared group. basal GLP-1 concentrations positively correlated derivative concentrations. Hence, could be beneficial for reducing risk intolerance, possibly involving enhanced secretion.

Postprandial glucagon-like peptide-1 secretion is increased during the progression of glucose intolerance and obesity in high-fat/high-sucrose diet-fed rats.

Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) is secreted by distal enteroendocrine cells in response to luminal nutrients, and exerts insulinotropic and anorexigenic effects. Although GLP-1 secretory responses under established obese or diabetic conditions have been studied, it has not been investigated whether or how postprandial GLP-1 responses were affected during the progression of diet-induced obesity....

Antihypertensive effect of quercetin in rats fed with a high-fat high-sucrose diet.

The effects of different levels of quercetin on the blood pressure were studied in 6-week-old male Sprague-Dawley rats. The rats were fed with a control diet or a high-fat high-sucrose (HFS) diet containing 0, 0.02, 0.07, 0.2, or 0.5% quercetin for 4 weeks. The systolic blood pressure and the lipid peroxides in the plasma were both higher in the rats fed with the HFS diet without quercetin than...

Endothelial and vascular dysfunctions and insulin resistance in rats fed a high-fat, high-sucrose diet.

This study was designed to examine the effects of a high-fat, high-sucrose (HFHS) diet on vascular and metabolic actions of insulin. Male rats were randomized to receive an HFHS or regular chow diet for 4 wk. In a first series of experiments, the rats had pulsed Doppler flow probes and intravascular catheters implanted to measure blood pressure, heart rate, and regional blood flows. Insulin sen...

Anti-oxidant and anti-hyperlipidemic activity of Hemidesmus indicus in rats fed with high-fat diet

Objective: Dietary changes playmajor risk roles in oxidative stress andcardiovascular disease and modulate normal metabolic function. The present study was designed to investigate the ameliorative potential of different extracts of Hemidesmus indicus to experimental high-fat diet in wistar rats, and their possible mechanism of action.  Materials and Methods: Male wistar rats were divided into 6...

Imatinib mesylate improves insulin sensitivity and glucose disposal rates in rats fed a high-fat diet.

The aim of the present study was to investigate whether imatinib affects insulin sensitivity and glucose disposal in HF (high-fat)-fed rats. Sprague-Dawley rats were fed either a standard pelleted rat food (low-fat diet) or an HF diet (60% fat) for 8 weeks. During the last 10 days of the HF diet regime, rats received saline alone or imatinib (50 or 100 mg/kg of body weight) daily by gavage. The...
